What is Jazz Band?
- Jazz band exposes students to a different mode of music making. Students have the opportunity to learn about improvisation, playing by ear, and modern music styles. These elements expand the skill set of a high school musician to ones that are commonly used beyond graduation. This is done by playing a varied repertoire of music in the jazz and big band setting.
