Branches of Satanism:

There are many different types of Satanism, they aren't all the stereo typical idea of worshiping satan but here a few examples.

Theistic Satanism

Theistic Satanism is the worship of satan as a deity. This includes the rituals and and usually magic as well. These are the "devil worshipers". The book satanism and Witch craft is often associated theistic satanism as well. But even with in theistic there are more branches. Most of the differences are how the world was started and can be traced back to gnostics.

Luciferanism

Luciferanism is more of a belief in a creed. They are more disciplined than other types of satanism. It is a strict worship of satan as a deity and as a "bright" individual, full of knowledge. Lucifer actually means bright or shinning star, because he was one of God's greatest angels.There is some confusion on luciferism though, some believe that Satan is good. Either that his and God's names were mixed up, or that Lucifer was a good guy and more relaxed. It's more of a connection directly with satan, and less of the sacrifices and rituals.

Ophite Cultus Satanas

Also known as Our Lady of Endor Coven, is a cultist form of satanism. It originated in Toledo Ohio. This cult is greatly influenced by gnosticism, where knowledge of right and wrong is assumed to be when Adam and Eve's eyes were opened in the Garden of Eden. None other that the serpent "satan" was the one that gave them this knowledge by luring them into eating of the forbidden tree.

LaVeyan Satanism

Founded in the 60s by Anton LaVey, this is one of the biggest names in satanism. This form of satanism teaches that yourself is the most important thing in life. As the most important thing in life you should get exactly what you want. LeyVan promotes individualism, atheism, self indulgence and revenge. They are friendly towards those that are friendly and the opposite to there enemies. This is a form of symbolic satanism, as satan is just a symbol of man's nature to be wrong.

Symbolic Satanism

This form of satanism is follows the Rituals of philosophies of Satanism, with out actually worshiping Satan as a god. They just see him as a friend that promotes their life style. Not a life for him, but kind of a hobby.

Casual Satanism

This is a form of Satanism used mostly in Today's teens. It gives the look that they are in fact "hard core" satanic worshipers, when in fact they have little interest in the faith. This in fact isn't their religion, but a trendy thing in some parts of the world. They associate themselves with symbols like pentagrams, goats, dark clothing, 6s and witches. Teens find a relationship in this sometime which might lead them into this form of satanism.
