The iPad 2 comes in two different models. They are the wifi and the 3G model.
With the wifi model you can connect to the internet only through wifi. With the 3G
model you can connect through wifi or 3G.You can get a 3G plan from either
Verizon or AT&T. Each model comes in either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB. You can
now get the iPad 2 in either the color black or white. The dimensions are 9.5 x 7.31
x 0.34 inches. It weighs 1.33 pounds. The iPad 2 now has both a front and rear
HD camera. It has all the same apps as the iPod except that the music and video
app have been combined into just the iPod app like on the iPhone. The iPad also
comes with the app called photo booth that is like the photo booth on Macs. It lets
you take pictures and add cool effects to them. The battery life is 10 hours on the
iPad or 9 hours when using 3G. It comes with the A5 processing chip that lets it
run apps, multi-tasking, internet, and video almost perfectly.
Smart Cover
When making the iPad 2, Apple also made another big product to go with it. They call
it the smart cover. They come in either polyurethane or leather and there are 10
different colors, five for each. The cover is made up of four different sections. The cover
can be folded to make stands like a typing stand or a photo or video stand. The smart
cover just lays flat over the screen and adds hardly any thickness or weight to the iPad.
It stays on with the magnet that is on one side that automatically snaps into the perfect
position when it comes close to the edge of the iPad. What makes the smart cover
smart is the fact that it can detect when it is covering the entire screen. If you fold the
cover over the entire screen, it senses that and locks your iPad in order to save battery.
When you take the cover off, it senses that to and turns your iPad back on. The polyurethane
covers cost $39.99 and the leather covers cost $69.99.
