A day of love, also known as Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14. Valentine's day is said to have originated from Saint Valentine, a christian martry who refused to give up his beliefs for the Romans. It is said the St.Valentine left a farewell letter to a friend who he had met in jail, which he signed "From Your Valentine". Valentines Day over the years has spread to holiday which people send letters and gifts of love to special people. It has become the most common day for red roses, heart shapped candy and famous love letter that women dream about as young girls. Flowers, cards and chocolate are some of the most favorite Valentine gift ideas today. The first offical Valentine's Day card was sent in 1415 AD by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife during his imprisonment in the Tower of London. Though Saint Valentine never entended for his letter to spark the romance of the world around him, for a certain day each year the holiday tradition contuines on as oxoxo marks each card.
