David Andrew "Andy" Samberg was born August 18, 1978, into a Jewish household. His grandfather was an important member in the American Jewish Congress. He found the show when he was sneaking past his parents to watch late night television and became obsessed with the show. The only class he did well in high school was writing because that is the only class that inerested him and he espicially like creative writing. Andy Samberg graduated from Berkeley High School and attended University of California Santa Cruz. He majored in experimental film and was in multiple videos that his class put together.

The Lonely Island

Once out of college, Andy Samberg and his two friends Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer formed The Lonely Island which is a comedy group that that makes parodys of songs or original comical songs. The Lonely Island started writing for Saturday Night Live in 2005, but only as a featured player. In December of 2005, Samberg joined Chris Parnell to make the digital short "Lazy Sunday" which kickstarted Samberg's fame in the digital short business. He then performed a duet with Justin Timberlake to make "Dick in a Box" which was aired on the 2008 Christmas episode. Other videos of his, like "Jizz In My Pants" and "I'm on a Boat," have gained over 98 million and 48 million views on YouTube. He is still currently a cast member of Saturday Night Live and is still making digital shorts to be aired on Saturday Night Live and/or YouTube.
