Elizabeth Stamatina "Tina: Fey was born on May 18, 1970, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. She grew up around comedy when her dad would have her watch Monty Python and The Honeymooners when was young. She graduated from Upper Darby High School and went to the University of Virginia and graduated with a degree in drama and playwriting.

After her graduation she moved to Chicago to try and get into The Second City improv group. She took classes there and eventually performed eight shows a week for two years. She dedicated her life to improv and has stated many times that improv is the reason she is such a good actress. While performing in 1997, she submitted some scripts to Saturday Night Live and was hired as a writer.

She moved to New York and promply started writing for Saturday Night Live. Her first skit to be aired was a parody with Chris Farley abouit Sally Raphael. She then went on to write parody's about The View and other shows. In 1999, Adam McKay stepped down as head writer and Tina Fey was given the job by Michaels and became Saturday Night Live's first female head writer.

In 2000, she joined Jimmy Fallon to co-anchor SNL's Weekend Update and never looked back. Weekend Update was such a hit, that the skit is still running (but with other anchors). Once Jimmy Fallon left, Amy Poehler took over to make Weekend Update even better. Now that Tina Fey isn't on Saturday Night Live anymore, Seth Myers has taken over her position to be co-anchor with Amy Poehler.

Tina Fey left Saturday Night Live in 2006 to make her show 30 Rock that is a show loosly based off of the interactions and comedy involved with the making of Saturday Night Live. She has been very successful with this show and has really become famous this way. Alec Baldwin, who has hosted Saturday Night Live multiple times, is also on the show. Tina Fey is still currently in charge of the show and a main character.
