The African culture can be credited for the dance style of jazz. The salves liked dancing when there was a new birth or marriage or death. Dance was a way to express the peopleÕs beliefs. After the slaves were brought over to England African and European cultures blended to make a new style of dance. During the eighteen hundreds whites started to make fun of the African slaves and would imitate the slaves. This was a way to make fun of the African slaves.
In 1920 the form of jazz dance was adopted by many people and jazz dance still exist today. During these last twenty to thirty years jazz dance has become more and more popular for teens and adults who love dancing. Kids in dance studios cannot wait until they can take there first dance class. Today jazz is one of the most popular dance styles. If you would tell a person from 1920 that jazz dancing would be as popular as it is today they would probably never believe you.
