We are the Lincoln Lutheran Varsity and Junior Varsity Girls Golf Team of 2009-2010. Every day we strive to play our best and to give glory to God with our efforts.This year we have a very young team with only four returning players. We are very lucky this year to have 12 great girls playing. There are five girls on the Varsity team, five girls on the Junior Varsity team, and we have two alternates. For many of the girls on our team this is their first year playing golf, and thanks to their hard work and perseverance they have shown real improvement.
Another new member of the team this year is our Coach, Sonya Freese. Sonya has been a huge help to every member of the team this year, teaching us new skills in golf and preparing us for competition. Coach has put in a lot of time and energy to build us up as players and she has always been very encouraging to us. She pushes us to play the best we can and not to get down on ourselves when we mess up.
As a team we also really appreciate the kindness shown to us by the Firethorn Country Club. They let us practice everyday for two hours on the west nine. Firethorn is one of the hardest courses in Lincoln which really pushed us to improve. As Coach Sonya put it, "if you can master this course, then you will basically be prepared for any other course."
Golf is a game that will test your patience and your precision. This site is a tribute to the amazing girls on our team and the efforts that we have put into it this year.
