History

Some historians say Islam dates back to the beginning of the world, but most say it started with the prophet Muhammad in 622 A.D. He was meditating when the angel Gabriel visited him, and gave him the Qur'an. He then began to proclaim the message of God. Before the Arabic society, believed that there was one God. But that God had intrusted his duties on othr gods and goddesses. Muhammad preached that there was one God, and the people turned against him and tried to kill him. He then migrated to Medina with this followers. For the next few years battles were fought between tribes of the original beliefs, and the new Islam. Muhammad fought in these battles, and won many without any blooshed. He died in 632 A.D. in Medina. The teachings of Islam continued to be spread after Mohammad's death. And the message of equality for all people is still taught today.

Beliefs

Islam teaches the Guran and Hadith that revolve around he idea of Emman or faith, and Amaal or acts. This is used to explain that without faith our acts are useless. The Quran talks about beliefs and faith. While the Hadith explains both faith and acts.

Muslims believe that there is one creator of the world (Allah). They also believe in Satan, who makes people sin. Sinners and unbelievers will spend eternity in Hell, but those who submit go God will go to Paradise.
